Our November KAL Announcement!

Get your needles and cotton ready...our next KAL is coming up!

It will begin on MONDAY, November 16th!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Materials Needed:
-------------------------

1 skein worsted weight wool yarn
1 pair knitting needles size 7
1 pair of stitch markers
1 medium button
Yarn needle to weave in ends
Needle & thread to sew button

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Feel free to use your worsted weight cotton for this one in any colour...preferably a nice colour to match your kitchen, as you will most likely want to display it proudly ;o) This pattern would also make for a great gift!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Here are the Special instructions for this pattern in case you want to get some practice in before we start...there will be some increasing, decreasing and cables...I know, I know, I said the "c" word but you're gonna love this one and if anyone needs help we've got a ton of people to help you as well as some wonderful online tutorials...don't let the cables discourage you from trying this one!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Increasing and Decreasing:
--------------------------------------

K1inc- Knit one stitch, but do not slip off needle. Knit again into the back side of the stitch, creating a second stitch and slip both off the needle together.

K2tog- Knit two stitches together at the same time, which decreases one stitch

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Cable Instrutions:
--------------------------

CR- Cable right by slipping first stitch onto cable needle and holding BEHIND work. Knit next stitch and then knit the stitch from the cable needle, creating a cable that twists to the right.

CL- Cable left by slipping first stitch onto cable needle and holding IN FRONT of work. Knit next stitch and then knit the stitch from the cable needle, creating a cable that twists to the left.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The instructions will be emailed daily as "special notice" to ensure that everyone gets them...if you are on daily digest and you don't want to wait for the digest to come in for your daily rows, you can always come to our group site to see the posted rows. As soon as I post them they will appear on the group!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I will also be posting the links for the daily rows on our Group Blog as well as daily progress pics so feel free to check our blog.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

After I post them to the group, I will make a text copy of them just in case anyone misses the post, and I will put them in the group FILES section under, "Our Group Knit Alongs"...just look for "November 2009 KAL ~ Hosted by Rachel".

Looking forward to next Monday Morning!
